I’m proud to know that people like O’Neill live on the same planet I do. Proud that great artists-poets can write so powerfully, so well, as to make us feel like we’re a species of worthwhile folks. In 5 years I’ve never finished Songs From the Shooting Gallery cuz it’s so good, so amazing; I read bits & pieces here and there. But I suppose I don’t ever want to be finished reading it.
